Three steps, two days
- Receive. Open the packet into a clean jar. Add about a quarter cup of warm water and a third of a cup of flour. Loose lid.
- Feed. Feed it again that evening and the next morning. Bubbles by day two. Most starters are active in 48 to 72 hours.
- Bake. Pass the float test, then follow the guide’s everyday country loaf. A bowl, a pan, an oven.
Kitchens run cold. If yours does, it can take the full 72 hours. That’s normal.

How is it shipped?
USPS from Texas, within one to two business days of your order. Most packets arrive in five to seven business days. US addresses only.
How long until it’s active?
Most starters are active in 48 to 72 hours. Warm kitchens finish sooner, cold ones take the full three days.
What if it doesn’t wake up?
Follow the guide and it’s still flat after 72 hours? Email support@motherscountrystore.com with your order number and a photo. We send a replacement free.
